We're thrilled to share the news that Sophia Faria is joining Resend.
Today, we're excited to share that Sophia Faria is joining the team.
Sophia joins us as GTM engineer based out of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After having done sales, marketing, product management, and customer success in previous roles, she's a perfect fit for our GTM motion. She is hardcore about games of the word/board/card variety and any sport with a ball.
How did you get into software?
It's easier to connect the dots looking back, but I'd say I took a very twisty road into software. I started in brand strategy after I dropped out of law school. Freelanced for a few years, and stumbled on consulting with startups on marketing, which then also became sales as I joined my first startup. I did all the things and wore all the hats, which also meant learning to code to build the things I wished existed, so I could sell them.
Building software feels to me like building puzzles that then fit as pieces into larger puzzles. I love puzzles, and I love seeing how things fit. It is the most creative endeavor in every direction, and I have huge respect for all the roles that go into building great software products.
What does your desktop/home screen look like?
It's a brand new laptop, so it's a default background and clutter. And a meme for good measure.

Why are you at Resend?
I've never admired a company or product from the outside the way I did Resend. It all feels so… cohesive, and intentional. Reading the handbook made me want to use the product. Using the product made me want to meet the team who built it. And once I met the people, I was sold. The sharpest group of people I've ever met.
If you weren't programming, what would you be doing?
I like to daydream about running a sandwich shop. I make killer sandwiches.
Favorite tool?
I am obsessed with Granola right now. I love how it is a great standalone product but also allows me to use my data however I want – with Claude or as part of a workflow via their API. Most meeting notetakers I've used have limited integrations and want to own the query layer.
Favorite hotkey?
Cmd+ctrl+shift+4. I take a lot of screenshots, and almost all of them are to color in something I'm sharing with someone. I try to control how many screenshots I have cluttering my desktop, and I don't do a great job at it ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Favorite place to visit?
I love feeling tiny when I'm in vast, expansive spaces in nature. The ones that come to mind are the snowy Rocky Mountains in Colorado the rolling green hills in Ibitipoca, MG and the emerald-green ocean in Angra dos Reis, RJ.
